Plakes, a small village with white houses and alleys, is located between Plaka and Triovasalos. They were built at the foot of the Castle and got their name (meaning straightening) from the fact that the area was flat. If you are in Plakes, you can visit the church of the village, Agios Charalambos, where you will find one of the oldest icons of the island, Panagia Akradiotissa. Finally, from Plakes you can easily and quickly go to the amazing beach of Plathiena.
