Mining Museum
The Mining Museum of Milos, an urban non-profit company, was created by S & B Industrial Minerals SA. in 1998 with the aim of honoring and promoting the mining history as well as the geological and natural heritage of Milos.
The social, economic and technological dimension of the mining history and tradition of Milos is presented in the ground floor room. The exhibition of the first floor is dedicated to the natural and geological wealth of the island, which presents the minerals that were mined on the island from the Neolithic era until today, industrial minerals, with special emphasis on their uses in our daily lives. In addition, films about the extraction and production process of minerals are shown, while in the screening room, visitors “travel” to older times through the stories of the old miners.
