The ancient theater was originally built by the inhabitants of the ancient city of Klima, during the Hellenistic era.
After the destruction of the city by the Athenians, a larger one was built with Parian marble and marvelous reliefs.
Seven marble stands, six rows of seats, the hollow, the orchestra, as well as many architecturally elaborate pieces are preserved from the theater.
Built in a prominent position, on the hillside it has a magnificent view of the port and very good acoustics. Thus, there are often times available for theatrical performances.
